Most Arctic sea ice could disappear by 2040

A paper from the National Center for Atmospheric Research predicts that the erosion of the sea ice in the Arctic could begin to rapidly accelerate starting in 2025. By 2040 or 2045, roughly 80 percent of the ice in the Arctic could be gone.

Far out in the pacific ocean between California and Hawaii, there are huge islands of garbage swirling together into ever-growing "cyclones" of debris. One island of trash is twice the size of the state of Texas. "The ocean's in trouble, [therefore] we are in trouble. Whether we live in Illinois or the Bay Area here in California, we live and die by the ocean," says senior scientist at the Ocean Conservancy in Santa Cruz, Wallace J. Nichols.

Another sign, believe it or not, I could see it coming and think most of us did. "Global Fishing Collapse" is in NEWS and people are talking about taking measures to reduce Fishing, as in one news article someone wrote, “When humans get into trouble they are quick to change their ways, we still have rhinos and tigers and elephants because we saw a clear trend that was going down and we changed it. We have to do the same in the oceans.” well I do appreciate the thought and believe that would help, but I don’t see it as a solution, shouldn’t we think beyond obvious and stop acting like ignorant, aint that why God gave us BRAINS. I guess we do understand that the real threat to Oceanic life comes from billions of gallons of pollutants we are draining down in oceans. Are we ever gonna bring it up and talk about it or will we wait till the day oceans are polluted enough to not support any form of life?
I hope Nimo is not the last one left for me to show my grandkids what fish was like.

I need to admit.. Am a Bob Dylan fan.. Listen to all his songs and u would know why, there aint too many singers out there to raise ongoing socio-political issues in common man's words and put them in beautiful lyrics like he does.

This time it was North Korea, and another nuclear bomb shook the earth with an intensity of 3.2 on richter scale. We know how delicate this world is and how important it is for us to keep it balanced; we see the warning signs and yet ignore them. Who should we blame for this, North Korea, US, Terrorists or dictatorship? I would say none, its us, you and I, all of us. We have made this world so insecure that we are on the verge of destroying it ourselves one step at a time. Ever thought how we would answer next generation when they’ll live to survive the destruction left behind by us (You and I). I would encourage each one of us to sit down for any one day in our life and think about what we got from nature and what we have given back and if we are even a little ashamed of what we are doing to this planet, let’s take an oath to make an effort, however big or small, to save this mother earth.

I bought a Prius and paid almost 7000 USD premium on other car of same class. Well, i would have ended up spending that money anyway, might have bought a more powerful 4 wheel drive with 20 miles per gallon. My commute is ~40 miles one way, which means i would have spend 3 gallon gas per day which is 1.5 gallon now. Total saving of 390 gallons per year which is almost 1170 $.
To me it is more than money, its my small contribution to reduce my carbon footprint, not just approx 400 gallons per annum that i reduce but when i think about all those highway delays, red lights where my car's engine is not running and is not blowing up toxic in air, i kinda feel good.

BBC - Science & Nature - Climate Change

This article from BBC talks about 3* rise in world's temprature in another 100 years. Its a Climate Chage Experiment Program, and I'll be writing on it.

Effect of Green house on Earth's environment is the topic of discussion all across the world. I read many articles that talks about what would happen to this planet in next 200 - 500 yrs if we do not restrict ourselves from destroying it further.
I think we do not have that much time. The way weather pattern is changing, I wouldn't be surprised to see something unexpected happen during my lifetime.
I am dedicating this BLOG to Environment, discussing our misadventures with it, the warnings that we are ignoring and my efforts to reduce my CARBON FOOTPRINTS.
